The government and the private sector have partnered to conduct a qualitative and quantitative study on the status of manufacturing industries in Nepal.
The Department of Industry under the government and the umbrella organization of the private sector, the Federation of the Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, signed an agreement in this regard today. The department’s Director-General Jeev Lal Bhusal and the FNCCI President Shekhar Golchha signed the deal.
As per the agreement, both the organizations will collect data about small, medium, and big-scale manufacturing enterprises. Then, jointly, they will try to address problems and challenges of the operation of such companies, explore opportunities in the sector, and promote industrial good governance.
They have agreed both the government and the FNCCI will jointly own the intellectual property right over the study report.
The two sides have formed a six-member task force to facilitate the partnership.
